Must Have Traditional Witchcraft Books For Every Witch & Worker

1. Good Juju- By Najah Lightfoot

traditional witchcraft

Every time I need a magical hug, this is the book I turn to. Najah is one of the warmest, kindest, magical teachers I’ve come across. This book is a must have for traditional witchcraft for beginners, it is one I would feel comfortable giving to my students and clients. Because Najah makes you feel like you can tackle anything with the first page!

Najah takes multiple paths, winding them all together, in an easy to understand and access manner. The book covers so many topics and things that every worker should be doing, in a fun and easy to use way.

2.The Enchanted Candle- By Lady Rhea

traditional witchcraft book

This work is old, but that being said, it’s the first one I tell those interested in candle or fire work, to get. Lady Rhea is the queen of fire works, and her book is powerful with easy to follow directions. The traditional witchcraft spells that Lady Rhea has written and provided in this work are must haves!

One of the things I love the most about Lady Rhea’s works is that she’s so inclusive. You will find works for nearly every god/goddess/ saints, etc that you can imagine. So whether you are looking for a specific deity, or maybe a new one to work with specific to your needs, Lady Rhea has you covered!

3.Voodoo Hoodoo Spellbook- By Denise Alvarado

traditional witchcraft books

Readers beware, this book will make your brain bleed :), in a good way. The information that Denise piles into this work is amazing! The traditional witchcraft supplies that Denise offers up in this work is amazing! Because, Denise takes the time to give you hundreds of formula and recipes so that you can craft your own supplies!

I would classify this work as intermediate too advanced, so be prepared for that if you’ve never worked any type of root work before.

4.The House Witch- By Arin Murphy-Hiscock

Traditional Witchcraft For Beginners

I love this for the simple purpose that Arin reminds us of the importance of the home base. Arin does a lovely job of re-enforcing the works and importance of the home. Because it is often times overlooked. I am just as guilty of this as anyone else.

House witchcraft should be the first stopping point for anyone looking for traditional witchcraft spells. Because without a solid “home base” to center, ground, and focus you, your works will be helter skelter at best.

Arin pulls in all the magical practices that start at in the home. It’s nice to have a book that focus the attention on building you home, where the heart lies and the soul refreshes itself :).

5.Slavic Witchcraft- By Natasha Helvin

Traditional Witchcraft vs wicca

This book hits home. As someone with Slavic ancestors, this book helped to fill in some of the missing puzzle pieces in my ancestry. Because of the easy with which most of the these magical works are done, it is  a must in my library.

The traditional witchcraft supplies that Natasha recommends in this book are easy to find and use for everyone. Because who has the time or cash to hunt down super difficult to place ingredients.

The book covers a multitude of topics, love to healing, along with the worship habits of the Slavic people. Reading through this, I can see the touches of gypsy practices, reinforcing my suspicions there is gypsy blood running in these veins!

6.Mountain Conjure and Southern Root Work- By Orion Foxwood

non wicca witchcraft books

I am a born and raised Appalachia girl. My ancestors have been here since the settling, so when I set out on a mission to learn about the magic that flows through these hills Orion Foxwoods works was one of my first stops.

Mountain Conjure does a wonderful job of teaching traditional witchcraft for beginners without feeling like you’re re-reading the same thing for the tenth time. Because no one has time for that!

Mountain Conjure, does a beautiful job of blending the old ways with the new world and showing everyone how to use the magic all around you in a simple and natural way!

7.Roots, Brambles & Spirits- By H. Byron Ballard

witchcraft books amazon

If you have an interest in Traditional Witchcraft vs Wicca, you must have this book. Not only does Byron bring a since a humor to the horrors that have been done to the beloved Appalachia rejoin and those of us who reside here. The author shows you how we practice magic everyday in simple easy to replicate ways.

The history Byron walks you through in the beginning of the work really is lovely, and brings attention to the reasons why we’ve hid our magic from the rest of the world for so long.
