I will say, if you like a 5 way this series is for you. There is a bit of an age gap and lots of jealous/protection trope action. All in all, not a bad read and is free for all of us Kindle Unlimited folks.

Now I haven’t read this series yet, so I can’t give a full twilight vote, but you get the idea. Sexy vampire lady, human 2nd in-line prince, arranged marriages, and oops a dead heir. I’m sure the melodrama and sexy time that will follow will be epic.

Okay, first off, Bewitched by Laura Thalassa is listed as a 1 book series (enter my confused mug here) so there’s that, Do with it what you will. In other news, I find the book jacket on this super intriguing, gives me Practical Magic, and meets Hogwarts the college years. This dark romance is full of witches, and magic school, and ends on a cliffhanger with lots of spice.
At age twenty, Selene Bowers desperately hopes to be accepted into Henbane Coven, an academy for young witches. Since one of the requirements for entry is to connect with her powers via a quest through the wilderness, Selene books a trip to South America.

This 3 part dark romance series takes all my favorite tropes and ties them into one. Haunted House, Family Secrets, Suprise Inheritance, Witches, I can’t wait.

Oh, I do so hope that this turns into a back with a vengeance bitches plot for our leading MC. Anyhoo, Dirty Blood by Penelope Barsetti puts a whole new spin on the good old plague trope by mixing in starving vamps. And with three books in the series, we are sure to get plenty, I like it! I’m excited to see where this vampire paranormal romance leads us as the two kingdoms struggle to survive.

12. Steamy romance book series with same main characters
Who doesn’t love a good dark romance comedy series? Ruinous Love by Brynne Weaver promises us that and much more apparently. This is another one of those 1 book series that I don’t understand, but I’ll take a dark romance about two serial killers falling for each other. Why not, it’s not something I’ve ever got to read before. Throw in the paranormal aspects too and this one seems like a stellar reading choice.
Dark romantic comedy series of interconnected stand-alone novels following the Kane brothers and the badass women they fall in love with. Expect dual POVs, happily-ever-after endings, and some pain, heartache, and comedy along the way. Please read responsibly and check TWs/CWs – these might be romantic comedies, but they are dark.
13. Taboo romance book series about brothers
Okay, first off this is a taboo series, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Dark Desires by Chelle Rose is a 5 part series that features a nun and a retired assassin. We’ve got an assassin who’s also a stalker, a womanizer, and last but not least an adoptive sibling romance. Told you, we stepping fully into the dark and taboo with this series. Overall readers seem to love this dark romance book series and I’m not here to judge, just help you find something to read.

Dark Desires is an interconnected series that can be read as stand-alone books. This series picks up after the Forbidden Desires series. However, you don’t have to read those first.
They all feature damaged heroes and heroines that you will root for. These are broken characters that might rip your heart out at moments but will end in either a HFN or an HEA.
14. Dark romance books read online free
So Howl’s Edge Island by Layla Sparks is a large dark paranormal romance book series. There are 7 books within this series and each one is standalone, so that makes it a little easier to swallow, haha. Anyhoo, each book gives us a tale of a feisty leading lady and her werewolf lovers, and I guess the werewolves in this series are unlike what we usually see. Reviews list that these are typically shorter in length so they make for quick and spicy reads.
Each book is a standalone but it’s highly recommended to read the books in order for the best reading experience.
This omegaverse takes place on Howl’s Edge Island and each pack consists of three or more males.
15. Hot fantasy romance book series
I’m not going to lie, I put this in here for all my Game Of Thrones lovers out there. I know my mother is STILL unhappy with how the show ended and has taken to just rereading the books. Fire and Desire by Chole Chastaine and Lillith Vincent seems to offer a much more sexy version of GOT. If you’ve been looking for a dark dragon romance book series, this 2 part series might just be the ticket.

It’s not a secret that the Stay A Spell series by Juliette Cross is one of my favorites. You get 6 standalone dark paranormal romances that slightly intermingle but not enough that if you miss a book you’re completely lost. You follow the love life of each of the 6 witchy sisters in each book, and their lovers who all range in different paranormal areas. Werewolves, vampires, Grims, shifters, etc. Each book hits on a different trope and kink so don’t think each book is exactly the same.

Ah, the beginning of my corruption. The Night Prince series by Jeaniene Frost was my first real step into the smutty world of paranormal romance series. If you love Vlad the Impaler and want to read a series that watches him pit himself against a sassy as all get-out lady who can zap people, you must read this. This series sadly isn’t on Kindle Unlimited, but at the time of writing this, it is on Hoopla.

So Kinky Kryptids by M.J. Marstens and Sedona Ashe comes out at the end of the month, and who isn’t interested in a Wendigo standalone romance? I mean come on now, the difference with this new dark romance book series is that it would seem the creatures never turn human, but their lovers are. So yeah, I’m gonna let your brain maul that one around for a bit and move on to the next series.

I have yet to read a dinosaur dark romance, but the Dino Magic series by Sedona Ashe might just be the one to get me to. What could possibly go wrong when our MC works in a dinosaur museum and she’s got magical blood that awakens dinosaur shifters from the past? Not only is this series supposed to be panty-ruining hot, but also laugh-out-loud hilarious.
Dinosaurs & Disasters is a light-hearted romantic comedy with a whole lot of steam! This isn’t a save-the-world type of story, but rather it focuses on Arizona’s coming into her hidden abilities and tracking down each of her fated mates.
*This is a paranormal series, not a serious true-to-science series. So, if you are hoping to learn about dinosaurs, this probably isn’t the read for you. If you want to giggle hard enough that the people around you think you’re crazy, then this might be the book for you!
20. Steamy dark romance book series
The title got me, But Did You Die by Sedona Ashe is a 5 part series about big cat shifters and a phoenix shifter that runs around saving their rear ends. This is a shifter dark paranormal romance series, but it’s also got hits of bullying in the first book, comedy, and the classic fated mate’s trope. If you love a harem of men, this one is for you.
I die, like all the time. My track record of hilarious, freak accidental deaths would be impressive if it weren’t so embarrassing.
“But Did You Die?” is a comedy-filled, bully (only in book one), paranormal romance series that includes jaguar shifters, a mysterious underground society, fated mates, and an incredibly clumsy Phoenix. Follow Amaryllis as she discovers who she is and ‘collects’ her soulmates along the way! It is full of humor, adventure, and scenes to entice and thrill you… or to make you unexpectedly snort with laughter. The series will have a HEA…it will just take a little while to get there!
21. Smutty dark romance books with trigger warnings
The Creatures We Crave by R.L. Caulder finally gives us a grown-ups-only dark academy romance book series. I am greatly looking forward to reading this as it takes something near and dear to me, creating your own magical world, and bringing our MC’s creatures and lovers to life. Throw in a magical academy that wants to teach her as well, this is the adult Hogwarts we’ve all been waiting on.
Monsters Within is book one in The Creatures We Crave series, which is set within the shared universe of Dark Imaginarium Academy. All series can be read independently, but characters have crossovers and it is highly encouraged to read all within the universe to understand the world in its entirety. Monsters Within has graphic violence, mature adult themes, and handles topics of mental health.
