1. Late Night with the Devil
This newbie is a great watch and a must-see. “Late Night with the Devil” takes place during a live broadcast of a late-night talk show that goes horrifically wrong when a demonic presence is unleashed. Expect a unique setting, intense scares, and a fresh take on demonic horror.

October 31, 1977. Johnny Carson rival Jack Delroy hosts a syndicated late night talk show ‘Night Owls’ that has long been a trusted companion to insomniacs around the country. A year after the tragic death of Jack’s wife, ratings have plummeted. Desperate to turn his fortunes around, Jack plans a Halloween special like no other, unaware that he is about to unleash evil into the living rooms of America.
2. The Last Exorcism
This is one of my favorite found footage films. Throw in demons, and I’m all for it. “The Last Exorcism” documents a disillusioned minister’s attempt to perform a final exorcism on a possessed girl, only to face true evil. Expect a compelling found footage approach, eerie realism, and a gripping narrative.

3. Haunt
I expected this to be awful, but it turned out to be a decent movie. “Haunt” follows a group of friends who visit an extreme haunted house on Halloween, only to discover the scares are all too real. Expect intense thrills, creative scares, and a fun yet frightening horror experience.

4. The Taking Of Deborah Logan
The levels of horror in this movie will have you peeking out from behind pillows, I swear. “The Taking of Deborah Logan” documents the harrowing experience of a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s who begins exhibiting increasingly disturbing behavior, hinting at a demonic possession. Expect a blend of psychological horror and supernatural scares that keep you on edge.

5. The Prince Of Darkness
Is it terrible? Heavens yes. Is it a demonic must-watch? Yes. “Prince of Darkness” involves a group of scientists and students who discover an ancient canister containing pure evil, leading to terrifying supernatural events. Expect campy ’80s horror with a unique premise and plenty of scares.

6. The Cleansing Hour
This is another of my top 5, even my horror-hating husband loves this one. We need more sarcastic Satan in film. “The Cleansing Hour” centers on a fake exorcism live-stream that turns horrifyingly real when a genuine demonic entity takes over. Expect a thrilling and modern twist on exorcism horror with dark humor and suspense.

Max and Drew are millennial entrepreneurs who’ve made themselves famous with a webcast they created called “The Cleansing Hour,” which streams LIVE EXORCISMS. The catch? Each exorcism is elaborately staged. Until today, when Drew’s fiance, today’s actress in the chair, turns out to actually be possessed! Will Max and Drew be forced to tell their 20 million viewers? Or are they the pawns in a greater demonic conspiracy?
7. The Possession
I thought this was going to be terrible, but it was really great. If you enjoy Hebrew exorcism, you have to watch this. “The Possession” follows a young girl who becomes possessed by a dybbuk after buying an antique box at a yard sale. Expect intense exorcism scenes, compelling stories, and a fresh cultural twist on possession horror.

8. The Autopsy Of Jane Doe
The argument is ongoing in this house if Jane is a witch or a demon. Either way, it’s an amazing movie, and she’s a demon. “The Autopsy of Jane Doe” unfolds as father-and-son coroners experience supernatural occurrences while examining the body of an unidentified woman. Expect a claustrophobic atmosphere, eerie discoveries, and a story that keeps you guessing.

9. Constantine
The birth of an entire new group of naughty demon killers. “Constantine” follows John Constantine, a supernatural detective battling demons and uncovering a conspiracy that could change the balance between Heaven and Hell. Expect stylish action, memorable characters, and a darkly engaging narrative.

10 . The Vigil
It’s a little weird at the beginning, but I promise it’s worth the watch. “The Vigil” centers on a man keeping vigil over a deceased member of his former Orthodox Jewish community, only to face a demonic presence. Expect a unique cultural perspective on horror with a deeply atmospheric and chilling story.

After agreeing to be an overnight shomer (a Jewish practice in which a person watches over the body of a recently deceased community member), a young man who’s lost his faith discovers the house in which he’s sitting the vigil hides a dark and terrifying secret.
11. Warning Do Not Play
One of my top finds of the year so far, and the ending is perfection. “Warning: Do Not Play” follows a film director who discovers a cursed film that leads her into a spiral of terror and madness. Expect a meta-horror experience with plenty of twists and a haunting finale.

Aspiring director Mi-jung is struggling with ideas for a new horror film, until she hears about a mysterious film. One that’s rumored to be shot by a ghost. The hunt begins, but as Mi-jung gets closer to the truth, the line between her film and her life begins to blur.
12. The Amityville Horror
I’ve seen just about every release of this, and the ’79 version is still my favorite. “The Amityville Horror” is based on the true story of the Lutz family, who experience terrifying paranormal activity after moving into a house where a mass murder was committed. Expect a tense atmosphere, eerie settings, and a chilling narrative.

13. Poltergeist
C’mon now, “They’re here” is a classic. “Poltergeist” centers on a family whose home is invaded by malevolent spirits, leading to the abduction of their youngest daughter. 14. The Legacy
This lost gem is a must-watch for all my BBC demon lovers out here. “The Legacy” follows an American couple who inherit a British estate and soon discover it harbors dark and deadly secrets. Expect gothic horror with a touch of ’70s flair and a storyline full of twists.

Now it’s clear the true master of the house is a supernatural force that will stop at nothing to find the rightful heirs for an unimaginably horrible legacy.
15. Drag Me To Hell
So this is one of my go-to background noise faves. It may stereotype my ancestors to hell, but it’s still fun. “Drag Me to Hell” tells the story of a loan officer who evicts an old woman from her home and finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse. Expect a blend of horror and dark humor with Sam Raimi’s signature style.

16. Sinister
So if you’d like to feel like a top-notch parent and or partner, give this one a go. “Sinister” follows a true-crime writer who discovers a box of home movies that suggest the murder he is currently researching is the work of a serial killer whose career dates back to the 1960s. Expect a deeply unsettling atmosphere, disturbing imagery, and a slow-burning build-up to a terrifying conclusion.

17 . The Exorcism Of Emily Rose
This film killed every bit of excitement I had about going away to college. “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” blends courtroom drama with supernatural horror as it recounts the trial of a priest accused of negligent homicide after an exorcism goes wrong. Expect a thought-provoking narrative with chilling exorcism scenes.

18. Hellraiser
One of my top five favorite films, if you don’t love Hellraiser, we can’t be friends. “Hellraiser” introduces the world to the iconic Pinhead and the Cenobites, who offer pleasures and pains beyond imagination. Expect visceral horror, dark fantasy, and a unique vision that has left a lasting impact on the genre.

19. Paranormal Activity
I haven’t watched this since it was released in 2007. To hell with those footprints in the flour. “Paranormal Activity” uses found footage to document a couple’s encounters with a demonic presence in their home. Expect subtle yet terrifying scares that build tension to an explosive climax.

20. The Babadook

21. The Omen
While some of the newer films in this franchise are good and others god awful, the original is a must-see. “The Omen” centers around a young boy who is revealed to be the Antichrist, bringing horror and death to those around him. Expect a chilling storyline, iconic scenes, and a powerful score that heightens the sense of dread.

22. Rosemary’s Baby

I’ve watched this twice and still can’t tell you for sure what the hell is going on with this family, but they all need therapy. “Hereditary” follows a family haunted by disturbing and tragic occurrences, uncovering dark secrets along the way. Expect a deeply unsettling narrative, powerful performances, and a haunting atmosphere that gets under your skin.

So if you hate clowns, you are going to want to stay very far away from this one. “Hell House LLC” documents the tragic events of a haunted house attraction gone horribly wrong. Expect found footage style horror with eerie settings and terrifying clowns that make it a standout in the genre.

In this found-footage gem, a documentary crew visit the site of a haunted house attraction whose opening night ended with 15 unexplained deaths. Eventually the crew come across a surviving employee who has footage that shines a scary light on what really went down that night. As we watch those ill-fated thrillseekers shuffling through the horror house, the knowledge of what’s about to happen makes for a squirm-and-scream-inducing good time. Dread Central called it “a perfect fright flick for the Halloween season” which features “one of the creepiest clowns to appear in a horror movie in a long time.” Sorry Pennywise!
26. The Conjuring
This film scared the living hell out of me, and to this day, I still don’t want to watch it again. “The Conjuring” tells the story of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as they help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse. Expect intense scares, a chilling atmosphere, and a story based on true events that will haunt you long after the credits roll.
